It marks a setback for Google's Waymo and Chinese giant Baidu, which have been eyeing Europe as a largely untapped market for autonomous vehicles. But for Wayve, it is its first mass-market rollout, and the company now plans to expand to Tokyo and 10 other cities with Uber.
