Nationally important wall paintings and sealed medieval doorways were discovered during the extensive restoration. Scientific tests confirm the building's early 13th-century origins as part of Dunstable Priory. Protective symbols, known as witch marks, were carved into old timber and stonework. The building is expected to reopen as a community heritage hub in early 2027.
